From the Kill Floor to the Garden: How We Are Helping Former Slaughterhouse Workers Build a Plant-Based Future
For years, our community has worked to promote the benefits of plant-based living. Last year, we took our most impactful step yet. We launched a dedicated project to support former slaughterhouse workers transitioning to an ethical, plant-based lifestyle.
This mission is made possible through our vital partnerships with Plenty Food Nederland, Plenty Food Deutschland, and Plenty Food International. Together, we are helping these resilient individuals heal, rebuild, and cultivate a peaceful relationship with food.
Cultivating Sustainability and Food Security
The photos below showcase the thriving gardens planted and maintained by the former slaughterhouse workers in our program. After months of hard work, we are finally preparing for our upcoming harvests!
These gardens represent more than just fresh food. By growing their own vegetables, our program participants are:
- Creating Sustainability: Establishing localized, eco-friendly food systems.
- Securing Food Autonomy: Reducing reliance on commercial supply chains.
- Healing Through Nature: Finding peace and purpose in nurturing plant life.
Support Our Mission: Donate to Our GoFundMe
Transforming lives and breaking the cycle of the slaughter industry requires continuous resources. We provide participants with seeds, gardening tools, soil infrastructure, and plant-based nutritional education.
We cannot do this alone. Your generosity directly funds the expansion of these gardens and allows us to welcome more workers into the project.
